Unleashed AI power with Snapdragon X Plus on PC

Qualcomm Technologies recently introduced a significant update to the Snapdragon X Series platform with the launch of the new Snapdragon X Plus, which offers a 30% increase in CPU performance while simultaneously reducing energy consumption by up to 54%. This groundbreaking advancement in CPU performance sets a new standard in mobile computing, allowing users to be more efficient and productive. The capabilities of Snapdragon X Plus were showcased at an event in London, demonstrating its prowess in artificial intelligence-based systems.

One of the standout features of Snapdragon X Plus is its incredible AI capabilities, with the processor able to process up to 30 tokens per second in generative AI applications without needing an internet connection. Qualcomm showcased new AI-optimized applications running on the 45 TOPS NPU, highlighting its potential in various use cases such as code generation, music generation, and live caption production.

In terms of security, Snapdragon X Plus offers comprehensive protection from device components to the cloud. It supports AV1 encoding and decoding for 4K HDR video streaming, as well as lossless audio through the Snapdragon Sound suite, ideal for high-fidelity audio experiences with wireless headphones. The platform also supports up to three external UHD 60Hz monitors for a more immersive viewing experience.

Snapdragon X Plus ensures seamless connectivity with support for 5G and Wi-Fi 7 with HBS Multi-Link, enabling users to stay connected wherever they go. Additionally, the chip offers advanced MIPI camera support for high-quality imaging and smart features like auto-framing and facial authentication, all while maintaining low power consumption.

Device manufacturers are expected to launch PCs equipped with Snapdragon X Plus starting in mid-2024, alongside devices using Snapdragon X Elite. Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Computing and Gaming at Qualcomm Technologies, commented on the Snapdragon X Series platforms’ industry-leading experiences and their potential to transform the PC industry with their AI capabilities and power efficiency. The Snapdragon X Series platforms are designed to push the boundaries of mobile computing and revolutionize the industry.
