UPMC expands its sports medicine offerings with new clinic opening in Ireland

UPMC has announced the opening of a new sports medicine clinic in Ireland, expanding its multinational sports medicine and orthopedic network. Teaming up with Mardyke Arena University College Cork, UPMC will now be serving individuals in the southern region of Ireland. Dr. Joel Nelson, president of UPMC International, expressed excitement about the partnership, bringing advanced sports medicine and orthopedic excellence to more people in Ireland. This collaboration between two academic centers will lead to the development of new solutions and opportunities for individuals across the country.

The newly opened UPMC Sports Medicine Clinic in Cork will focus on preventing and treating sports-related injuries, as well as providing joint replacement, rehabilitation, and support for people of all ages. John Windle, general manager of Sports Medicine at UPMC Ireland, highlighted the commitment to excellence in patient care within the field of sports and exercise medicine. The collaboration with Mardyke Arena UCC, known for its excellence in sports and physical activity, is set to enhance the campus with world-class sports medicine services.

The new center in Cork is an addition to UPMC Sports Medicine services available across Ireland in Dublin, Waterford, Limerick, Tipperary, and Mayo. This expansion brings specialized care closer to individuals in need of sports medicine and orthopedic services, furthering UPMC’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare solutions.
