The College of Science at the University of Idaho is currently hosting a two-day science event called Vandal Science Days. This event, now in its second year, offers participants the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiments and learn about various scientific topics. The event began today and will continue tomorrow, Saturday April 20th, from 10am to 3pm at the Integrated Research and Innovation Center on the U of I campus.

Vandal Science Days is a free event open to the public of all ages. It includes presentations from professors on topics such as the usage of arsenic in beauty products and information about the science programs offered at U of I. Participants can also take part in various hands-on science activities, such as a fossil dig, comet making, and virtual reality demonstrations for sustainable futures.

Communication and Marketing for the College of Science, Cindy Barnhart, mentioned that there are many interactive opportunities available at Vandal Science Days, including applications in planet walking and other scientific activities. The event coincides with the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, emphasizing the interconnectedness of science and music.

Additionally, prospective U of I science students have the chance to win a $500 college of science scholarship by participating in Vandal Science Days. This event serves as a great opportunity for the public to learn more about science and its applications in various fields.
