The Israeli Ministry of Health has issued a warning to consumers regarding the potential dangers of taking Kobayashi Pharmaceutical’s dietary supplement containing red yeast rice. This warning comes after Japan’s health ministry reported a possible link between five deaths and over a hundred hospitalizations related to kidney disease and the consumption of this dietary supplement.

The Ministry of Health in Israel has noted that red yeast rice has not been approved for use in dietary supplements in the country, therefore, the specific supplement in question cannot be purchased in regular stores or through official sales channels. It is further emphasized that the Ministry of Health has not been made aware of any cases in which Israelis required medical treatment after consuming this specific dietary supplement purchased online.

Last week, a Japanese news agency reported that Kobayashi Pharmaceutical’s red yeast rice dietary supplement was found to contain an unspecified substance called puberulic acid, a natural metabolite of blue mold. The production line at the Wakayama Prefecture plant is undergoing thorough inspections to identify any areas where mold may have grown.

In other news, various online platforms and websites seem to be promoting different products and services, including opportunities for exclusive prizes, music promotions, social bookmarking sites, and more. The focus remains on consumer safety, the authenticity of products, and making informed choices regarding purchases.
