Apr 18, 2024

Community leaders in the San Luis Valley, Colorado have expressed growing concern about the behavioral health of workers in the agriculture industry. To address this issue, we have developed an interactive worker wellbeing assessment based on the Total Worker Health® and Total Farmer Health® frameworks. We received responses from 118 participants, enabling us to analyze the data effectively.

Our presentation will focus on various aspects of worker wellbeing, including job satisfaction, coworker support, work affect, work fatigue, overall health status, chronic health conditions, individual stress, general mental health status, substance use, work injury, social support, anxiety, and depression. The target audience for this presentation includes agricultural industry leaders, health providers, and behavioral health clinicians.

The objectives of the training session are to help participants identify sources of stress for agriculture workers in the San Luis Valley, Colorado, recognize different levels of behavioral health risk factors, behaviors, and outcomes, and evaluate behavioral health from a work-centric perspective.
