Western Slope Iron and Supply recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with an open house attended by customers, contractors, vendors, subcontractors, trade partners, and generations of owners. The event, which saw about 100 people in attendance, also included a ribbon-cutting ceremony held by the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce to commemorate the company’s milestone. The company’s founder, Jim Over, as well as his son Jeff Over, who now owns the business, and current owner David Marsh were all present for the celebration.

Marsh shared his thoughts on the company’s success, attributing it to having resilient employees, loyal customers, and a commitment to treating people well. He expressed gratitude for the support that has allowed Western Slope Iron and Supply to thrive over the past five decades. The company currently employs 65 Mesa County residents, making it a significant local employer in the area.

Western Slope Iron and Supply specializes in steel fabrication and has provided materials for various local projects, including the Community Hospital’s James Pulsipher Regional Cancer Center, the new Grand Junction High School, the new Orchard Mesa Middle School, and the Lincoln Park Stadium Tower. In addition to local projects, the company has also supplied steel for projects across the state and even some out-of-state projects, such as the expansion of McCarran International Airport (now Harry Reid International Airport) in Las Vegas during the 2000s.
