He is also part of the Hamas delegation involved in negotiations with Israel through intermediaries.
During his interview with the AP, al-Hayya, who was in Istanbul at the time, expressed Hamas’ proposal to establish an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, along with the return of Palestinian refugees in exchange for a truce lasting at least five years. He mentioned that if these conditions were met, Hamas’ militant wing would be disbanded, and the organization would transition into a political party.
