Whitefish Lake Institute hosts ‘Science Quencher’ discussions

Quench your thirst for science at Whitefish Lake Institute’s Science Quencher, an event featuring discussions on fish, sheep, owls, and rivers by local scientists. The event will take place on April 26 from 5-7 p.m. at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Attendees will have the chance to interact with local science experts who will share their knowledge and passion for natural resource and conservation issues. Speakers include Sam Bourret, a fisheries biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks; Carol Treadwell, finance and grants manager for Whitefish Lake Institute, and chief wool handler at Steitzhof Merinos; Denver Holt, founder and president of The Owl Research Institute; and Dakota Whitman, a fluvial geomorphologist with River Design Group.

Durae Belcer, program coordinator at the Whitefish Lake Institute, describes the Science Quencher as a fun local gathering that covers a variety of topics. The presenters are enthusiastic about their work and enjoy sharing it with the audience, making it a valuable learning experience for all who attend. Each presentation will be a 10-15 minute “lightning round” talk with an opportunity for questions from the audience.
