This week, several Minnesota breweries made their mark at the World Beer Cup Awards in Las Vegas. The World Beer Cup is considered the most prestigious beer competition globally, with breweries vying for gold, silver, or bronze medals in 110 categories. Out of over 9,000 entries from more than 2,000 breweries worldwide, six Minnesota craft breweries stood out and took home medals from the event.
Jess Talley, the executive director of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, commended the breweries for their passion, talent, and hard work that led to their success at the competition. The awards served as a testament to the quality of beer produced by Minnesota’s craft breweries and brewpubs. Fans of craft beer have long known that some of the best beer in the world is crafted by their neighbors and friends in communities throughout Minnesota.
The Minnesota breweries that earned medals at the World Beer Cup Awards included Bent Paddle Brewing Co. in Duluth, Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub in Minneapolis, Excelsior Brewing Co. in Excelsior, Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake, BeerClub Brewing in Mora, and Pryes Brewing Co. in Minneapolis. These breweries received recognition for their exceptional brews such as Little Dussel Do-Ya, Doppelbock, Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale, Dortmunder, Doppel doppel Bock bock, and Idyll Forest Soiree, respectively.
