The discovery of a 19-year-old woman’s body in the trunk of a car in a parking garage in Regensburg has left police puzzled. The dark blue Opel Corsa was found parked in the parking garage of a Toom hardware store on Frankenstrasse, near the Donau shopping center (DEZ) on the outskirts of Regensburg. Customers at the market alerted the police after noticing a smashed side window of the car early on Saturday morning. When officers opened the car, they found the body of the young woman inside. She was believed to be from the neighboring Cham district and had not been reported missing. According to police sources, she was seen alive on Friday before being found in the trunk on Saturday morning.

The Opel Corsa was registered to the young woman’s parents but was often used by her. Authorities are uncertain as to why the side window was smashed and are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. Forensic experts spent hours gathering evidence from the car before it was finally towed away in the evening. The Regensburg Criminal Police Inspectorate has taken over the investigation and are treating the case as a potential violent crime.

The exact cause of the woman’s death is still unknown, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the circumstances. Investigators have interviewed the victim’s parents and witnesses in an effort to piece together what happened. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding this tragic discovery in Regensburg.
