AEE Solar, a leading equipment distributor, recently announced that it will be closing its doors on May 3, 2024. In preparation for the closure, the distributor is currently selling off the remaining inventory at clearance prices.

The company, originally founded in 1979 as Alternative Energy Engineering by solar enthusiast David Katz, started out in rural Redway, California. Initially focusing on off-grid equipment, AEE Solar expanded its offerings to serve the residential market in California.

In 2014, AEE Solar was acquired by Sunrun along with SnapNrack, further solidifying its presence in the solar energy market. As the closure date approaches, the distributor is advising customers to reach out to their territory sales manager to explore new purchasing options directly from SnapNrack.

Last year, AEE Solar expanded its operations by opening a new 140,000 square foot distribution center in Visalia, California. Despite the upcoming closure, the company remains committed to providing quality solar products and services to its customers until its final day of operation on May 3, 2024.
