The total solar eclipse of April 2024 will provide a unique and rare opportunity for over 30 million people to witness totality. This eclipse is set to cross the United States from Texas to Ohio, New York, and Maine. NASA has carefully mapped out the path of totality, highlighting the best locations, cities, and times to observe the event on April 8.

For those living within the eclipse’s path, they will have the chance to see the moon obstruct the sun and darken the skies. However, even those outside the immediate path can still witness the eclipse by driving a short distance or taking a brief flight. To witness totality, where the moon fully covers the sun, it is essential to be in the right place at the right time. Fortunately, NASA has created a detailed map that identifies the exact locations and times for optimal viewing.

The eclipse will conclude its journey through the US in Maine, exiting the country by 3:35 p.m. Eastern Time. This will mark the final opportunity for everyone in the contiguous US to witness a total solar eclipse for the next two decades. The event will culminate in late afternoon in northern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, providing a spectacular sight for those fortunate enough to be in the area.
