Alica Schmidt, a German track star known as the “world’s sexiest athlete,” recently qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics after facing challenges at the Tokyo Olympics three years prior. Schmidt was part of the team that secured a spot in the mixed 4×400-meter race at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24. She shared her excitement on Instagram Stories, celebrating the achievement.
In one of her Stories, Schmidt wrote, “From paradise to Paris,” indicating her journey from one Olympic Games to the next. Following the qualification, Schmidt and her teammates enjoyed a trip around Nassau, where they even swam with pigs on an island. Despite setbacks in previous competitions, Schmidt remains a top performer on the European track circuit.
Schmidt’s track record includes a silver medal at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships and a bronze at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships. However, she and her team fell short in the 2022 European Championships and failed to qualify at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon. Taking a year off after the Tokyo Olympics, Schmidt bounced back to secure a spot in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
