TikTok has announced that it will begin labeling content created using artificial intelligence when it is uploaded from certain platforms. The goal of this initiative is to combat misinformation on the social media platform. This announcement was made on ABC’s “Good Morning America” by Adam Presser, TikTok’s Head of Operations & Trust and Safety. He stated that the platform’s users and creators are excited about using AI to enhance their creativity and connect with audiences.

In the past, TikTok encouraged users to label content that was generated or significantly edited by AI. Additionally, the platform required users to label all AI-generated content containing realistic images, audio, and video. This new policy is part of TikTok’s efforts to ensure that users are able to distinguish between fact and fiction on the platform. By labeling AI-generated content, TikTok aims to provide transparency for its users and combat the spread of misinformation.
