During the Giants’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday at Citizens Bank Park, Patrick Bailey was forced to exit the game in the second inning due to blurry vision. He is currently being evaluated for his condition. The injury seemed to have occurred after being hit by a foul ball off the bat of Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm in the first inning.

The Giants announced that Bailey was removed from the game because of blurred vision and is undergoing evaluation. The 24-year-old catcher was replaced by veteran Tom Murphy after leaving the game. Despite his early exit, Bailey managed to walk and score in his only plate appearance of the evening before being taken out of the game. The incident serves as a reminder of the physical demands and risks that come with being a professional baseball player.
