Brighton Growing Grads supports aspiring entrepreneurs in developing their business acumen

Brighton’s Growing Grads program is designed to educate young entrepreneurs in Brighton on how to start and manage a business. The program focuses on teaching creative processes, communication skills, and financial considerations that are essential for success. Tawnya Russell, the Youth Services Manager, emphasized the importance of watching youth develop valuable business skills and gain self-confidence through the program. She mentioned that the program is continuously adapted to meet the needs of all participants, with expectations set for the 2024 session to be the best yet.

The boot camp program for young entrepreneurs will take place at Brighton’s City Hall located at 500 South 4th Ave. An orientation open to all ages is scheduled for June 25 from 3-5 p.m., followed by the program running on June 26 and June 27. The program is tailored for young adults aged 19 and under, with separate sessions for ages 12 and younger and those aged 13 and older. The sessions will cover essential topics and skills needed to succeed in business.

Participants who complete the program will have the opportunity to sell their items at the Brighton City BBQ festival on July 18. Interested individuals can register for the boot camp program through the city’s website, with applications due by June 14. For any inquiries or questions, individuals can contact Tawnya Russell at 303-655-2123 or trussell@brightonco.gov for more information.
