The Parkchester Library in the Bronx was bustling with avid readers on World Book Day. Among them was Marissa Morales, a Bronx resident who has a passion for reading and writing. Morales, who wrote her first book in first grade, also hosts a monthly book club at the library.

For World Book Day, Morales organized a writing workshop to inspire other aspiring storytellers. She believes that everyone has a unique voice and perspective that should be shared through books. Morales emphasizes the importance of books as a way to experience different cultures, places, and perspectives.

In an effort to encourage more Bronx residents to explore the resources available at the city’s libraries, Morales hopes that World Book Day will serve as a reminder of the countless opportunities for learning and growth that libraries provide. By engaging in reading and writing, Morales believes that individuals can broaden their horizons and gain a greater understanding of the world around them.
