Science is a silent force that influences every aspect of our daily lives, from the technology in our phones to the agricultural innovations that shape our food choices. It plays a crucial role in addressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, diseases, and extreme poverty. Its importance goes beyond our routines and is essential for progress and development.

During the first part of the Dialogue, the 2024 Laureates will present their groundbreaking research in the biological sciences, clinical, health, and environmental fields. They will also discuss how their work contributes to addressing critical global issues. The Dialogue will shed light on the impact of scientific research and innovation on society.

Launched on the 2024 International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the UNESCO Call to Action: Closing the Gender Gap in Science emphasizes the importance of addressing gender disparities in the field of science. It calls for urgent collaborative actions at various levels to promote gender equality in science, highlighting that it is essential for both the advancement of women and scientific progress as a whole.

In the second part of the Dialogue, the 2024 Laureates will provide their insights and discuss strategies to advance the Call to Action. They will explore ways to promote gender equality in science and create a more inclusive and diverse scientific community. The Dialogue aims to inspire collaboration and action to address gender disparities and promote the participation of women and girls in science.
