Cooper Farms recently donated $50,000 towards the new Obstetrician Room as part of the Mercer Health Childbirth Center expansion and renovation project. The expansion will improve safety during cesarean procedures and provide additional space for increasing births. It will also include an enhanced nursery for unique situations and ensure the continuation of quality childbirth services within the community.
The Delivering on a Promise campaign, which supports the project, was initiated last summer with a generous $1 million donation from the Walter and Evelyn Braun Family. Additional donations totaling over $600,000, including the contribution from Cooper Farms, have been made to the MED Foundation to support the project. Deb Hemmelgarn, Director of the MED Foundation and Volunteer Services at Mercer Health, expressed the importance of a successful campaign to ensure adequate funds for the project.
Hemmelgarn stressed the commitment of Mercer County and surrounding communities to providing quality healthcare, which includes the availability of childbirth services. With childbirth centers closing across Ohio and the nation, Mercer Health is enhancing its services to meet the increasing demand for births and to fulfill its commitment to the community.
