The Dallas Cowboys have not yet signed extensions with quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, or linebacker Micah Parsons. However, they have reached a deal with running back Ezekiel Elliott. NFL Media reports that Elliott has agreed to terms on a contract that will bring him back to Dallas, although the terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Elliott was originally selected by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft and had been with the team through the 2022 season. After being released in March 2023, he signed with the New England Patriots last August. However, he recently visited the Cowboys to discuss a return to Texas, and it was widely expected that a deal would be reached.

Now that a deal has been confirmed, Elliott is expected to reclaim his spot as the Cowboys’ starting running back. With Tony Pollard departing in free agency and no other major moves made in the backfield thus far this offseason, Elliott will likely be at the top of the depth chart for Dallas in the upcoming season.
