The National Science Foundation recently honored over 20 Colorado State University students through its Graduate Research Fellowship Program, a prestigious STEM fellowship program in the country. Among the recipients, seven CSU students and one alumnus were selected for the fellowship. This five-year program includes financial support for three years, with an annual stipend of $37,000 and a cost-of-education allowance of $12,000 to the institution. Since 2016, CSU students have received a total of 59 Graduate Research Fellowships from the NSF.

Furthermore, 12 students and three alumni were granted NSF Graduate Research Honorable Mentions. This program, established 72 years ago, aims to enhance the quality, vitality, and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce in the United States. The CSU Graduate School, the Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising, and the Office for Undergraduate Research and Artistry played vital roles in the application process.

Colleen Webb, vice provost for graduate affairs and dean, expressed her pride in the students who applied for this award. She emphasized that the number of CSU graduate students receiving this prestigious honor reflects the significant contributions of graduate students to the university’s research excellence.
