“It’s a Small World” is the opening day attraction of Disneyland Paris, which opened in April 1992. The park celebrated its 30th anniversary, but the attractions were closed for renovations in November 2021. Although initially scheduled to reopen in November 2022, renovations were only recently extended and finally reopened last month.
The renovation work included an outdoor façade and some technical upgrades. Most of the vehicle, including the façade, has been repainted. Some wooden elements have been replaced with composite materials. The control tower used by cast members was also enlarged and other backstage areas updated with flooring and electricity. The lighting and hydraulic system have been updated in the ride scene as well. Roughly half of the dolls were replaced, and a new doll in a wheelchair was installed to emphasize inclusivity. Additionally, Disney removed asbestos used in the building’s air conditioning system and framework during the renovation.
