The Ravens were forced to wait almost four hours before they could make their first selection of the draft. However, their patience paid off as they were able to secure one of the top cornerbacks in this year’s draft class. With the 30th overall pick, the Ravens chose former Clemson corner Nate Wiggins. This marks the first time since 2017, when Marlon Humphrey was selected, that the Ravens have chosen a cornerback in the first round. Now, Humphrey and Wiggins will be teammates in the secondary.

Wiggins had an impressive college career, making 11 starts during the 2022 season and earning first-team All-ACC honors after the 2023 campaign. Over his three years in college, he recorded 60 tackles, three interceptions, two interception returns for touchdowns, and two forced fumbles. Joining Humphrey and Wiggins in the Ravens’ cornerback group are Brandon Stephens, Ar’Darius Washington, Jalyn Armour-Davis, and Arthur Maulet.

This strong group of corners will be tasked with shutting down opposing passing attacks and contributing to the Ravens’ defensive success in the upcoming season. With Wiggins now a part of the team, the Ravens’ secondary looks poised to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.
