Pittsburgh’s favorite attractions, including the zoo, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, National Aviary, and Phipps Conservatory, will be offering over 100,000 free tickets this summer. The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) announced that from May to August, more than a dozen regional assets will provide free admission on specific dates. To take advantage of this offer, people need an Allegheny County library card and must make a reservation. The free admission is part of an expanded Summer Staycation program from RAD. Instead of a traditional RAD Day, attractions will offer free days throughout the summer to spread out crowds and make it easier for everyone to find a suitable time to visit.

Last August, the Andy Warhol Museum, Children’s Museum, and Heinz History Center offered free admission every operating day. Following the positive response from the community, RAD decided to continue offering free admission this summer. RAD Board Chair Dan Griffin emphasized the importance of giving back to taxpayers who fund these projects. Starting on May 1, free admission dates will be posted on RADPass.org, with more offers added throughout the summer. RAD encourages people to cancel their reservation if they can’t make it to allow others to take advantage of the free tickets.
