French President Emmanuel Macron participated in a charity football match where he played the full 90 minutes alongside former football stars Didier Drogba, Didier Deschamps, and Eden Hazard. The event aimed to raise money for children in hospital. Macron scored a penalty against a goalkeeper who did not move, helping the presidential XI win 5-3 against a team of healthcare professionals from Plaisir, coached by Arsene Wenger.

This was the second time Macron played in a charity match during his presidency, the first being in 2021. The match raised 57,500 euros which will benefit a hospital foundation led by Macron’s wife Brigitte. The event was organized by the Varieties Club of France (VCF), known for organizing benefit matches and attracting star names like Laurent Blanc.

Macron, wearing the number three jersey, played the entire duration of the match alongside former France international Christian Karembeu. The charity match aimed to improve the lives of hospitalized children and teenagers. Brigitte Macron’s hospital foundation, established in 1989, focuses on raising funds for children and teenagers undergoing medical treatment.
