The Nashville Farmers Market is bustling with patrons and food options as summer approaches. Among the many spots to eat, a new addition called the Grow Local Commissary has opened its doors last month. The Grow Local Commissary (GLC) is a shared kitchen space designed to support farmers, bakers, food artisans, and other local businesses in creating value-added products. This initiative aims to strengthen the local supply chain and provide additional revenue streams for small businesses.

According to the Nashville Farmers Market’s website, six different businesses can work in their respective stations at the GLC simultaneously. The establishment of this kitchen space was made possible through a grant from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. Operating 24/7, the GLC charges $25 per hour to rent a station. While some equipment may incur additional costs, there are plenty of tools available for use at the GLC. To utilize the space, interested parties need to submit an application, provide necessary documents, and undergo onboarding.

In other news, a heartwarming story shared by Sports Anchor Steve Layman highlights the support provided by Vanderbilt Head Baseball Coach Tim Corbin and his team to the Sullivan family. In the face of a tragic event, the Vandy Boys offered a much-needed distraction and support to a young man and his family. Despite being just a baseball game, on this occasion, it meant so much more to those involved. The actions of the Commodores are commendable and serve as a reminder of the impact small gestures can have on people’s lives. Kudos to the Commodores for their kindness and support.
