Google has introduced a new shortcut for iPhone 15 Pro smartphones that allows users to activate Google Lens by pressing the action button. This feature is a version of Google’s ‘Surround to Search’ function found on Android smartphones. The new shortcut enables users to search for anything displayed on the screen with ease.

In addition to the new shortcut for the iPhone 15 Pro, Google has also launched search capabilities powered by generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones. This includes a feature called ‘Circle to Search’, which allows users to gather information, compare results, or purchase products by simply surrounding a specific element on the screen.

Although the ‘Surround to Search’ feature is not available on iOS devices, Google has provided a new shortcut for iPhone 15 Pro users to activate Google Lens with the touch of a button. This shortcut allows for quick and easy searches on anything visible on the screen.

To use the shortcut, users must have the Google app for iOS installed on their device. They can then download the Google Lens shortcut and configure it to work with the action button in the iOS settings menu. Additionally, the shortcut can be set up using the Back Tap Accessibility feature for other iPhone devices that do not have the action button found on the iPhone 15 Pro.

The Google Lens design manager, Minsang Choi, shared information about the new shortcut for iPhone users on X (former Twitter), although the post has since been deleted. This new feature provides iPhone users with a convenient way to use Google Lens for quick and efficient searches on their devices.
