Grading the NFL Draft: Seattle Seahawks hit the mark with their first pick, but the rest is a mixed bag

The Seattle Seahawks draft grade is a C+ with mixed feelings surrounding their picks. They were able to address a key need by selecting defensive lineman Byron Murphy II, who could be a disruptive force for their defense. Additionally, Christian Haynes, an offensive lineman from UConn, has the potential to compete for a starting role and make an immediate impact. However, their Day 3 picks were less inspiring, especially without a second-round pick due to a trade.

A favorite pick for the Seahawks was Christian Haynes, chosen 81st overall. Haynes has the skill to start right away, which is crucial for a team in need of starting guards. This selection has the potential to pay off quickly, and could prove to be a steal for the Seahawks in the long run.

On the other hand, the least favorite pick was Tyrice Knight, a linebacker from UTEP selected 118th overall. Knight may not be ready to play in the NFL and is likely to become more of a special teams player than a starting linebacker. It remains to be seen if he can develop under the guidance of head coach Mike Macdonald.

Overall, the Seahawks draft picks included Byron Murphy II, Christian Haynes, Tyrice Knight, AJ Barner, Nehemiah Pritchett, Sataoa Laumea, D.J. James, and Michael Jerrell. Each pick brings its own strengths and weaknesses, and only time will tell how they will impact the team in the upcoming season.
