The Philadelphia 76ers recently fell short in their series against the New York Knicks, but they received support from North Philly native and former Temple University women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley on Sunday. Staley rang the bell at the Sixers game in South Philly wearing an Allen Iverson T-shirt. She made a pitstop at Mitchell & Ness before the game to ensure she was stylish while courtside. Staley also caught up with Sixers legends Allen Iverson and Julius Erving.

During the game, Staley was mic’d up by the Sixers and displayed the same excitement and enthusiasm seen by fans watching from home during the fourth quarter. Despite being a national championship-winning coach, Staley’s actions showed she is just like any other fan. Following her third NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship win with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Staley reflected on her success and discussed the current state of women’s basketball.

In a recent interview with Ukee Washington, Jessica Kartalija, and Sports Director Don Bell, Staley shared her thoughts on her recent victory and the status of women’s basketball. Jessica MacAulay, a digital producer for CBSPhiladelphia.com, highlighted Staley’s accomplishments and her continued dedication to the sport.
