U.S. health officials have issued a warning about counterfeit Botox injections that have made 22 people sick, with half of them requiring hospitalization. Six individuals were treated for suspected botulism, a serious disease caused by botulinum toxin entering the bloodstream. Symptoms of botulism include double or blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty breathing. Health officials emphasize the importance of receiving injections only from licensed professionals and reporting any suspected counterfeit products.
