Aditi Swami, the reigning under-18 and senior World Archery Champion, expressed her excitement over the shooting process working well for the Indian team. Swami is hopeful that the team can replicate the success they achieved at the World Cup in Paris last year, where both the Indian men and women secured team gold medals. The Indian line-up for the competition includes Swami, Asian Games Champion Jyothi Surekha Vennam, and Parneet Kaur.

However, the squad is currently without their coach, Sergio Pagni, who was instrumental in many of their successes last season. Pagni is currently attending a camp in India. In the final, the Indian women’s team will be facing Italy, who advanced after a semifinal shoot-off victory against Kazakhstan when the scores were tied at 227 points in regulation.

Meanwhile, the Dutch men’s team, seeded 10th, also emerged victorious in a tiebreak against France to secure a spot in the final. Their perfect X-ring 10s were contrasted against their opponents’ standard 10s, ultimately helping them survive the match. World number one Mike Schloesser expressed his surprise and happiness with the outcome, especially since they entered the bracket as underdogs.

During the session, Kazakhstan’s women’s team and the Korean men’s team both secured bronze medals. The competition in Shanghai will resume in the afternoon with recurve qualifying rounds.
