Running back JK Dobbins has made the decision to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, as confirmed by his agency LAA Sports. This move comes after spending four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Dobbins will be reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who now holds the same role with the Chargers. This reunification will take place at SoFi Stadium on the West Coast.

Dobbins’ 2021 season was cut short due to an Achilles injury, limiting his playtime to just 22 rushing yards and one touchdown in Week 1 before being placed on injured reserve. Additionally, he was sidelined for the entirety of the 2021 season after sustaining a torn ACL in the final preseason game. Throughout his career, Dobbins has accumulated 1,347 yards rushing, 12 rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions for 177 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.

Last season, the Chargers struggled in rushing yards, yards per carry, rushing touchdowns, and rushing first-down percentage, ranking among the worst in the league. With the arrival of QB Justin Herbert and new head coach Jim Harbaugh, adding more options to the offense to support Herbert has become a top priority for the team this offseason. The expectation is that Dobbins will make a significant impact on the Chargers’ offensive game plan moving forward.
