Judd Trump secured his spot in the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship with a victory over Tom Ford in the second round. The 2019 champion closed out the match at 13-7 after resuming play with a two-frame lead at 11-5. Trump, who will be competing in his 10th Crucible quarter-final, will face either Jak Jones or Si Jiahui in the next round.

Despite scoring his 979th career century and finishing with a break of 84 to win the match, Trump described his performance as “average.” He admitted to struggling with the conditions of the Crucible table, saying that it felt a bit heavy. However, he praised his ability to stay patient and not be too harsh on himself during the match.

Reflecting on his performance, Trump emphasized the importance of building a commanding lead in the first session. He noted that once he established a 6-2 advantage, it was crucial to capitalize on that lead and maintain control of the match. Trump acknowledged that maintaining focus and not giving away the lead were key factors in his successful performance.
