Last summer, “Baldur’s Gate 3” was released and has since been recognized with several video game awards. Larian Studios, the creators of the game, have decided not to work on a sequel but instead focus on two new independent projects. Currently, they are working on Patch 7 for “Baldur’s Gate 3,” which will fix bugs, improve endings, and introduce new modification tools.

The studio is looking to add cross-play and a photo mode in the future, but they have ruled out continuing the story of Baldur’s Gate in any form, be it a new narrative, expansion, or sequel. They made this announcement on a community forum on Steam, confirming that there will be no Baldur’s Gate 4.

Larian Studios released the Dungeons and Dragons-inspired game in August last year, offering an open world for players to explore freely with adapted lore and characters depending on player decisions. The game has received recognition in several awards ceremonies, such as the Golden Joysticks, Game Developers Choice, DICE, The Game Awards, BAFTA Games Awards, Hugo Awards, and GLAAD Media Awards, among others.

Moving forward, Larian Studios is excited about the development of their two new projects and is looking forward to what the future holds for their studio. They are focusing on creating new titles of their own rather than continuing the Baldur’s Gate series.
