Building on their previous collaboration with Republic of Gamers in 2021, Ikea is now offering solutions for gamers who value both style and functionality.
The Brännboll collection will hit stores in September 2024 and includes a range of furniture, storage solutions, and accessories. Many of the items are multifunctional and can be easily moved and adapted to different spaces, allowing gamers to quickly switch between immersive gaming setups and everyday living spaces. Philip Dilé, a product design developer at Ikea in Sweden, emphasizes the collection’s focus on making gaming accessible for everyone in any part of the home. Dilé hopes the collection will encourage friends and families to bond over shared gaming experiences.
Central to the collection is seating, with a variety of ergonomic chairs designed to support different postures and play styles. The collection also includes a gaming station that features a folding table, integrated PC storage, and cable management, transforming from a gaming setup to a discreet storage unit. Various storage solutions like wall-mounted wardrobes, coffee tables on wheels, and a multifunctional basket that doubles as a coffee table round out the collection. Accessories and decorative elements like mouse pads, carpets, and throws are also included to personalize the gaming space.
