One person was shot Friday morning near the Eastgate Town Center. Victor Miller with Chattanooga Police said around 10:00 am, a 27-year-old man was walking in the parking lot around the Eastgate Town Center area. As the person was walking towards a business, a suspect or suspects began shooting at him and he was shot. The Chattanooga Police Department, Chattanooga Fire Department, and Hamilton County EMS responded to the scene. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

We spoke to a person who was inside the Tennessee Community Counseling Services and DUI school at the time of the shooting. They mentioned hearing two gunshots and witnessing the victim enter the building after being shot. Across the parking lot from where the shooting took place is Molly Maid. Sheena Crow, the office manager, mentioned hearing the shots fired. She was in her office when she heard the gunshots, followed by the sound of firetrucks and ambulances, prompting her to go outside and see the commotion.

After learning about the incident, Crow expressed her concerns, referencing a previous shooting at T-Mobile on Brainerd Road weeks ago. She found it alarming to have two shootings occur in such a short timeframe, motivating her to implement stricter safety measures. She mentioned that they now keep their doors locked at all times and ensure that the employees have keys to maintain door security. The consecutive shootings have raised questions and prompted extra caution among residents and business managers in the area.
