Louis Leterrier to helm ‘11817,’ a sci-fi horror film set to debut at Cannes with sales starting.

Louis Leterrier, known for directing Fast X, is set to direct and produce a new sci-fi horror film titled 11817. The film, written by Matthew Robinson, is currently being presented to buyers at Cannes by Rocket Science. The story follows a family of four who becomes trapped inside their house by inexplicable forces. As they run out of modern luxuries and life essentials, the family must learn to be resourceful to survive and outsmart whatever is keeping them trapped.

Casting is currently underway for the film, which will be produced by Carrousel Studios, Rocket Science, Thank You Studios, Chernin Entertainment, and 3 Arts Entertainment. The team of producers includes Louis Leterrier, Thomas Benski, Omar Sy, Lars Sylvest, Kori Adelson, Oly Obst, Thorsten Schumacher, Joe Neurauter, and Cecile Gaget. Rocket Science will fully finance the project and handle foreign sales, while CAA Media Finance will represent domestic rights.

Louis Leterrier, known for directing popular films like Fast X and Clash of the Titans, expressed his excitement for the project, stating that he is drawn to stories where audiences can connect with the characters and their journey. In addition to 11817, Leterrier is also attached to direct the final film in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Rocket Science’s Cannes slate for this year includes other exciting films like Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump pic The Apprentice and Cliffhanger. Louis Leterrier is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360/LBI, Sloan Offer Weber & Dern, and UBBA in France, while Matthew Robinson is represented by CAA, 3 Arts, and Ziffren Brittenham.
