One year after the landmark resolution on strengthening diagnostics, experts will convene at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva to address the most urgent health challenges facing the global community. Issues such as fragmented supply chains and market barriers continue to impede access to diagnostics, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

Persistent threats like HIV, tuberculosis, and emerging infectious diseases, as well as antimicrobial resistance (AMR), all require accurate and rapid diagnostic tests for timely treatment and care. Diagnostic network optimization (DNO) is a process that evaluates gaps, capacity limitations, and inefficiencies in healthcare networks and delivery every two to three years. However, much of the information collected during these evaluations remains underutilized or isolated, hindering progress in improving healthcare outcomes.

On May 30th, a collaborative event between Foreign Policy and Cepheid will focus on unlocking DNO insights to enhance pathogen detection, strengthen global health systems, achieve universal health coverage, and combat antimicrobial resistance. Participants will explore strategies to maximize the impact of diagnostic network optimization and improve access to vital diagnostic tools.

The event will take place on May 30th, 2024, from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM CET. Join us in advancing the conversation on diagnostics and contributing to the global effort to improve healthcare access and outcomes.
