The plan for today’s activities on Mars includes conducting several ChemCam and Mastcam observations of the Murray formation to study its texture and chemistry. The team also scheduled a small Mastcam mosaic to document cross-stratification and nodules in the area, as well as a MAHLI mosaic of the target “Berg Aukas” before moving on to the next location. Once the drive is completed, the team will take the standard post-drive images to provide context and aid in future targeting.

Additionally, the second sol will involve a small untargeted science block, which will consist of a ChemCam autonomously selected target and a Mastcam observation to assess the opacity of the atmosphere. These observations and data collection efforts are essential for the ongoing study of the Martian environment and geological features. The team continues to work diligently to analyze and interpret the data received from the Curiosity rover to further our understanding of the red planet.
