New Zealand joins Australia in eagerness to host Rugby League World Cup following France’s exit.

New Zealand has expressed interest in co-hosting the 2025 Rugby League World Cup with Australia, following France’s withdrawal, according to the New Zealand Rugby League chief executive Greg Peters. France confirmed on Monday that it would not host the event. New Zealand and Australia co-hosted the 2017 World Cup and could do so again in 2025. Peters said that they are interested in exploring alternatives and that they could create something special with the help of Pacifica countries and elements. Australia’s National Rugby League boss Andrew Abdo said that it was too early to talk about plans, and they were focused on what the next five years’ calendar would look like.
