A Lehighton business is facing multiple fines, including operating without a valid liquor license. On April 13 at around 2 a.m., officers from the Lehighton Borough Police Department assisted the Pennsylvania State Police – Liquor Control Enforcement Division in executing a search warrant at the Pleasure Lounge Restaurant & Bar located at 201 N. First St. This action was part of an ongoing joint investigation that revealed the business was operating without a valid liquor license. As a result, police confiscated between $25,000 to $30,000 worth of alcohol, and the PA Liquor Control Enforcement Unit is expected to impose numerous administrative fines.

In the year 2023, the Lehighton Borough Police Department received 61 service-related calls, and so far in 2024, there have been 22 documented service calls at the restaurant/bar. These calls varied from complaints about loud music to active violent disturbances involving weapons. Lehighton Police have been collaborating with the PA Liquor Control Board to classify this business as a “nuisance bar.” If the business is declared a nuisance bar, the owners would be unable to renew their currently expired liquor license.

The Pleasure Lounge Restaurant & Bar at 201 N. First St. in Lehighton has been cited for operating without a valid liquor license. This situation highlights ongoing issues and concerns regarding the business’s operations and its impact on the local community.
