Local leadership was on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Central Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) in St. Louis. The event, held at the Cortex Innovation Center, celebrated the opening of the new office serving as an economic engine for the region.

U.S. Representative Cori Bush, St. Louis County Councilwoman Shalonda Webb, St. Louis Economic Development Partnership CEO & President Rodney Crim, and Chairman, President, and CEO of St. Louis Development Corporation Neil Richardson were featured speakers at the event. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Transportation, SBTRC, and the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) also addressed attendees.

The Central Region SBTRC offers services to disadvantaged business enterprises and small businesses in the civil transportation industry in Missouri, as well as neighboring states like Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, and Mississippi. This includes assistance for minority and women-owned businesses. The WBDC operates the Central Region SBTRC through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization.
