In Belgrade, Joshua is set to compete against Kiplimo once again, with other notable athletes including Berihu Aregawi of Ethiopia and Sabastian Sawe of Kenya also vying for top positions.
The course in Belgrade is much flatter than the previous World Cross editions, and Cheptegei has been in impressive form, recently clocking a fast time in Spain. He is considered one of the top contenders for a medal in Belgrade.
Cheptegei expressed his excitement for the upcoming race, aiming for a third senior individual medal. The race will take place at Friendship Park in Belgrade, featuring a loop and obstacles like arch bridges, a hay maze, and hurdles.
The women’s U20 race will begin at 11am (CET) on Saturday, with the senior men’s race following at 1:30pm.
