In the Pückler Park Branitz in Cottbus, climate change is being discussed, with an open-air exhibition providing an overview of its effects on the park from April 30th to October 31st. The Fürst Pückler Museum Park and Branitz Castle Foundation announced this initiative in Cottbus. Titled “Future Rich: Climate Change Branitz,” the exhibition features information at twelve stations in the inner park about the impact on soil, water systems, trees, and meadows. Additionally, the effects of climate change on buildings and museum operations will be examined in the castle rooms.

The curators of “Symbiotic Lab” are inviting visitors to take a fresh look at the Branitz park landscape through site-specific interventions of contemporary art under the title “Between Roots and Crowns.” Artists Lea Grebe from Munich, Tayfun Erdogmus from Istanbul, and Jakob Kukula from Berlin are involved in this project to showcase Branitz as a laboratory for the future. The Prussian Palaces and Gardens Berlin-Brandenburg Foundation is also presenting “Historic Gardens in Climate Change” in Branitz as part of the cooperation, exploring perspectives for green cultural heritage from Sanssouci and Branitz.

With an open-air exhibition on the consequences of climate change in Sanssouci Park, the Castle Foundation will further highlight the impacts of climate change in another historic location. This collaborative effort aims to raise awareness about the challenges posed by climate change and explore sustainable solutions in these culturally significant spaces. Through art, exhibitions, and research, the project aims to inspire action and conversation about the importance of protecting our environment for future generations.
