To be honest, American Airlines has not been my top choice for flights ever since a sudden cancellation left me stranded in Colombia in 2021 without much help from customer service. The communication throughout the ordeal was lacking, as there was no clear information about my rights to a hotel or why the flight was canceled in the first place. However, I have started to regain some trust in the airline.
Recently, I flew in economy on an American Boeing 737-800 from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Despite some past issues, like the incident in 2021, the flight was perfectly on time and I noticed that the communication has definitely improved. Additionally, I have come to appreciate American’s retrofitted narrowbody cabin over its competitors.
Overall, while American Airlines may not be my first choice, the airline has been slowly regaining my trust through improved communication and reliable flights.
