Sangiuliano’s 2024-2026 plan includes a thousand initiatives to preserve cultural heritage

The three-year public works program for 2024-2026 includes one thousand interventions throughout the national territory, with a total amount of 235,424,970.15 euros. The Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, signed a decree outlining these projects. In 2024 alone, 63,710,789.33 euros have been allocated for these works, with the budgetary resources coming from the Ministry of Culture.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Culture, the funds are divided as follows: 23.46% for archaeology, 42.71% for fine arts and landscape, 19.54% for museums, 5.82% for archives, and 8.47% for libraries. Over the three-year period, the largest allocation goes to the fine arts and landscape sector, followed by museums, archaeology, libraries, and archives.

The funds will be distributed across various regions, with Lazio and Campania receiving the highest figures for the number of projects financed. The Minister of Culture highlights the importance of this three-year plan in protecting and enhancing the nation’s cultural heritage, emphasizing the need for concrete works throughout Italy.

He also expresses the ministry’s commitment to monitoring the progress of these interventions and seeking additional funds to support more projects beyond those included in the current plan.
