A 69-year-old retiree recently accomplished an impressive feat by visiting 120 pubs in just 24 hours, breaking a Guinness World Record. David Clarkson, originally from Britain but residing in Australia for over 40 years, began his attempt at the Captain Cook Hotel in Sydney with his first drink.

Over the next day, Clarkson made his way to 119 more establishments, ordering a drink at each stop. Guinness World Records Adjudicator Pete Fairbairn joined Clarkson for the start and end of his attempt, while other witnesses accompanied him during the middle portion of his pub crawl to collect evidence.

Clarkson’s record-breaking attempt was completed at the Sussex Garden Bar, where Fairbairn officially certified his achievement. This accomplishment meant that he surpassed the previous record held by Australians Harry Kooros and Jake Loiterton, who visited 99 pubs in 24 hours.
