Second Break-In on Wealthy Street in 6 Days – Another Business Targeted

In Grand Rapids, Michigan, there have been recent break-ins on Wealthy Street, with at least two businesses falling victim in less than a week. This has left many business owners in the area feeling frustrated and disappointed.

The first business to be broken into was Wealthy Street Bakery. According to Operations Manager Ashley Havemeier, the break-in occurred last Thursday at around 5 a.m. The robbers, wearing masks, attempted to break in through the front door. When that failed, they threw a piece of asphalt through a side window. Fortunately, they were unable to find any cash as the registers are not left out overnight, so they left empty-handed.

Following this incident, another break-in was reported at Good Judys Market and Juice Bar, just east of Wealthy Street Bakery. Similar to the first break-in, a large piece of asphalt was thrown through the glass door. The business had to close for the remainder of the day. Havemeier expressed frustration, stating that it was unlikely the businesses kept large amounts of cash on site.

The Grand Rapids Police Department is currently investigating both incidents. It is unclear at this time if the two break-ins are connected. Business owners in the area are on edge and hoping for a swift resolution to these troubling events.
