The San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Department recently established a partnership with County Libraries to provide free-to-attend “awareness galleries” as a way to educate locals on mental wellness and substance use, with a specific focus on overdose prevention. County Behavioral Health Director, Star Graber, PhD, expressed that these partnerships open up opportunities to reach out to new community members who may benefit from their support and services.
The awareness galleries can be found at county libraries in Cambria, Los Osos, and Nipomo, and are offered in both English and Spanish. The goal of these galleries is to provide vital information and resources to community members in order to promote mental wellness and prevent substance abuse.
