On Thursday, Storm Nelson continued its course towards Britain, bringing snow showers along with it. Unfortunately, four people have died after the storm hit the northern parts of Spain, according to reports from news agency AFP. Two individuals lost their lives on Thursday after falling into the sea in the province of Asturias, with one incident occurring in Muros del Nalón and the other in Cudillero. In southern Catalonia, Tarragona, two more people drowned in the sea on Thursday. One of the victims was a minor Moroccan boy who got into trouble in the water. A German man attempted to rescue the boy but tragically both lost their lives.

The Spanish Meteorological Institute issued a weather warning for large parts of the Spanish coast and the Canary Islands due to dangerous waves and strong winds. Wave heights could reach up to 6–7 meters, prompting advice for people to avoid rocky cliffs. Storm Nelson also affected the south and west of France on Thursday with strong winds and high waves, as reported by The World. The storm’s impact continued as it moved towards Britain, where snowfall was reported in the northern parts of England and Wales. The storm has raised concerns about potential disruptions in Easter traffic in Britain.
